Spookydirt’s pricing has changed: on Spookydirt’s music page, you can pay what you like for any item in the catalogue – even pay nothing. (Obviously it would be lovely if you paid more than nothing, but these days no-one can expect to get rich from music. Perhaps if you really like the music, you could come back and… ok, it’s an idea).
I hope it goes without saying that you can’t expect to name your price when purchasing Spookydirt music from itunes and Amazon.
I’m trying to get the label up on Reverb Nation, having trouble with uploads and getting it to sync with Facebook. Once it all works properly, I’ll post details here.
‘Cosmotourism‘ has finally been released into the wild, after what I think might be 2 years. I can’t really explain why it has taken me so long, although there was that week earlier this year when I lost the master files. That was quite distressing. And then there were all those extra tracks that made the album about 90 minutes long. And the extra tracks that weren’t all that good. And I had to change the titles for some tracks, because they were just so bad.
I think the main reason it took me so long to get ‘Cosmotourism’ finished is because I wanted it to be perfect. It isn’t, of course. Nothing is. Perfection is in itself, a flaw. But as far as albums of ambient space music go, this is pretty darn good. But I would say that, wouldn’t I.
Listen to the album on the player (above) or wait for it to arive on iTunes, Amazon, Emusic and places like that. If you get really impatient, you can purchase the HQ-MP3 version using the link on the player for only €6, or even get a lower quality version for free.
You can buy it from Amie Street also, if you are that way inclined. At the moment, that is the cheapest way to get it – $0.15, although this may go up soon.
If you’re doing a search for it on the web, you’re better off typing spookydirt rather than the title, as most stores show it as ‘Hotei Arc?s’ because I used a ‘ū’ when I could’ve just used anormal ‘u’ and that would have been ok. For some reason Emusic shows the correct characters, as does Amie Street. I’ll know for next time, eh?
